Automated Access Solutions

Waste facilities across Canada that are looking for ways to processes trucks quicker and reduce costs are automating their entry stations. Waste has become big business, and the focus is often at the land fill. Line ups are common as trucks arrive to dump their waste, some in several locations. The processing of these trucks requires time and manpower. Automated Access Solutions has developed a new entry system designed specifically to relieve the pressure and congestion at entry and exit stations. The entry stations process trucks quicker with less labor generating significant savings for the landfill. The benefits to the landfill are shorter lines, reduced labor costs, extended hours of operation and increased operating efficiency. The benefits for the hauler are more time for extra trips, less fuel used as waiting times are significantly reduced, lower operating costs; all these benefits result in more profits for the landfill and the hauler.

AAS entry stations come standard with an easy-to-read computer display and audio instructions - which is a primary reason why the entry station can process a weighing transaction in less than 30 seconds. If RFID technologies are used, trucks can be processed in less than 15 seconds. At Automated Access Solutions, innovations means bringing value to the customer by designing products that address customer needs and fulfill market demands. AAS's software called "MatreX" integrates with the customer's existing software in the scale house, MatreX compliments the existing system, it was designed not replace existing systems. AAS estimates ROI; using the elimination of labor costs, the Return on Investment (ROI) is 8.5  months for 1 entry station. Real-time reporting is available in MatreX. There are two models of entry station; Cash-based and cash-less entry station models are available. Fast Credit Card Processing is available in both models. Waste facilities can add another revenue stream to their operation by processing commercial trucks for cash payment, credit card payment or pre-paid accounts. ‘eScale' tickets, scale tickets can be mailed to the hauling company. Security; security cameras can be added to take snapshots of the vehicles and store the pictures along with the transactions. Perhaps the greatest benefit for very busy entry stations is the Remote Diagnostics; remote diagnostics and remote monitoring are available - reducing downtime.

Precision Distributions Canada Inc. has become the Canadian distributor for a new automated entry station developed by Automated Access Solutions, a division of PDQ Manufacturing. Precision Distribution, part of Precision Scale of Edmonton has installed several systems in Edmonton and is in the process of installing systems in Ontario and Quebec through its distribution network and local service providers. Precision Scale was looking for new and innovation ways to support our customers; we had automated Waste Management facilities in Edmonton and fully understood the saving that could be achieved through automation using RFID

We believe the AAS entry station is superior to other station we looked at because of its ease of use. The system is very simple to use and training support is strong, truckers like it, especially with the voice prompts. Precision Scale integrated the AAS entry station to the existing scale equipment at the scale house in a major waste facility in Edmonton. The "Legal for Trade" status was not affected. In a discussion with Tony Vu, Vice President of Engineering with Precision Scale, Tony indicated one of the great features of this equipment was its compatibility with all manner of customer's equipment. The AAS entry station integrates seamlessly with most indicators in the marketplace today. Precision Scale was the first company in Canada to gain Accreditation from Measurement Canada allowing our technicians to certify a scale "Legal for Trade", a designation that is nation wide. Precision Scale is a well established provider of innovation weighing solutions; from basic scales to automated data acquisition and control processes.
