Quality Management and Safety
ISO
In our constant search for ways to meet the needs of our customers we instituted a Quality Management System. We started work on this program in 1999 and through a great deal of effort and help form all of our employees we obtained our registration for ISO 9002:1994 in May of 2001. In June of 2003 we upgraded our registration to ISO 9001:2000. Our ISO scope is "Design, Manufacture, Sales & Service including Calibration and Certification of gravimetric devices (scales).
Measurement Canada Accreditation
This distinction of being ISO registered in the scale industry led to Precision Scale being the very first accredited scale company in Canada to perform inspections on weighing devices pursuant to the "Weights and Measures Act & Regulations" this allows us to inspect and certify weighing devices on behalf of Measurement Caenada that are usd in business transactions as "legal for trade".
Safety Systems
The management of Precision Scale is committed to providing active leadership and support in order to develop and maintain the health and safety of each employee of this company.
The prevention of occupationally induced injuries and illnesses is of such consequence that it will be given priority over operating productivity where necessary. We are committed to provide all mechanical and physical facilities as required for continued personal health and safety, in keeping with the highest standards.
Our objective is a health and safety program that will reduce the number of injuries and illnesses to the absolute minimum, not merely in keeping with, but surpassing the best experience of operations similar to ours.
Our Health and safety program will involve:
- Providing mechanical and physical safeguards.
- Conducting a program of inspections to find and eliminate unsafe working conditions and practices, to control health hazards, and to comply fully with the safety standards for every job.
- Training of employees in good health and safety practices.
- Ensuring all employees and subcontractors know of and follow safety procedures.
- Providing required personal protective equipment and instructions for use and care.
- Developing and enforcing health and safety rules, and requiring that employees and subcontractors cooperate with these rules as a condition of employment.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses to identify causes and put corrective measures in place.
We recognize that the responsibilities for health and safety are shared:
- The employer accepts the responsibility for leadership for the health and safety program, for its effectiveness and improvement.
- Supervisors are responsible for developing the proper attitudes towards health and safety in themselves and those they supervise. For ensuring that all operations are performed with the utmost regard for the safety and health of those involved.
- Employees and subcontractors are responsible for wholehearted, genuine cooperation with all aspects of the health and safety program, including compliance with all rules and regulations and for continually practicing safety while performing their duties.
